According to Senior Vice-President Doug Anderson “Canadians are well aware of the recall issue that Toyota faced last week and are generally of the view that the company has done at least a good job in handling it. As of Sunday night, about a third of Canadians say the issue has negatively impacted their likelihood to purchase a Toyota vehicle, while most say it has had no such impact. The latest announcement of another recall may ultimately erode these market conditions for Toyota, but the stock market’s positive reaction suggests that the confidence that Canadians are showing is shared in the broader marketplace.”
