According to Senior Vice-President Doug Anderson “As the Games opened, we asked Canadians what will be important to determining whether the Vancouver Olympics are successful, Canadians placed more importance on providing a secure, economical and organized event than on the country’s medal count. Hockey gold clearly matters to a lot of people – either men’s hockey OR women’s hockey – but far fewer feel it is very important that Canada win the most medals.”
