In honour of the royal visit to Canada by Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, the latest Canadian Press/Harris Decima survey asked about attitudes towards the Monarchy in Canada.
According to Consultant Robert Hughes, “In terms of the population as a whole, our results show that Canadians are still relatively evenly split over whether the Monarchy ought to be maintained. However it’s the regional shifting of opinion that shows that there is a growing consensus in English Canada that the Monarchy ought to be maintained, while in Quebec support for that position has eroded.”
